Breathing at
the right frequency

Cardiac coherence relies on slow, regular breathing close to the "resonance frequency" of the cardiovascular system (about six breaths per minute). At that rhythm, heart-rate variations amplify and synchronise with the breath: the signature of a flexible, responsive autonomic nervous system.

A sensor measures your heart rhythm live and a visual guide paces your breathing: you see, in real time, coherence settling in. This feedback loop engages the baroreflex and trains the nervous system to better regulate stress (Lehrer & Gevirtz, Frontiers in Psychology, 2014).

A meta-analysis of heart-rate-variability biofeedback studies has associated the practice with reduced self-reported stress and anxiety (Lehrer et al., 2020). It is a simple tool, reproducible at home, that we calibrate to your individual resonance frequency.
